It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner for the past 24 years. I have done my best to ensure that my office meets your needs quickly and efficiently, while providing the best customer service possible.
I am very proud of the advancements we have made during my tenure. Before I took office, Gwinnett taxpayers had to stand in all-day lines to receive their tags and were confronted with poor customer service. Not only that, but the Tax Commissioner’s office had no accounting system, and taxpayer money was sitting in accounts that earned no interest.
With my accounting background, I was determined to re-invent the office, and make it more business-like, customer-friendly, and efficient. I did not want Gwinnett taxpayers to complain that the Tax Commissioner’s office was like every other government bureaucracy.
I am proud to say that today my office is a shining example of what can be accomplished with hard work and determination. My proudest moments as Tax Commissioner come when I hear someone give compliments to my office, saying how good an experience they had.
One of my proudest achievements has been opening satellite tag offices, where taxpayers can renew their registration and apply for titles. With locations in Lawrenceville, Norcross, Snellville, North Gwinnett, and Peachtree Corners, all Gwinnettians are within a short drive of the Tax Commissioner’s office.
I am also proud of bringing the office into the 21st century, through the introduction of online tag renewals and the use of credit card payments. I am committed to making your experience with my office as convenient as possible.
My watchwords have always been, and will continue to be, efficiency, accountability, and customer service. I am truly grateful for the support you have shown me over the years, and you have my solemn promise that I will continue to keep your needs first in all that I do.
